First let’s make sure we review an important distinction, and that is the difference between Marijuana and Hemp.

Marijuana is:

  • Cannabis with a much higher THC content, and is currently used for medical and recreational product development.
  • Currently schedule 1 on the Controlled Substances Act, making it federally illegal, and designated as having no medical value and a high probability of addiction.
  • State based legalization efforts have enabled the production and sale of it for adult use, but it is tightly controlled, regulated, and only available in local state based retail markets.

Hemp is:

  • Cannabis with less than .3% THC, and is currently used for medical, industrial, recreational, and nutritional products.
  • Descheduled from the controlled substances act, and is federally legal in the United States.
  • A market that is global, and some countries have been utilizing the fiber for many years.
